Awful green tint on both high and low EBL are still present for me with 1215. Basically any scene with an overcast sky or limited contrast swings wildly between normal and green. If other people don't have this issue then I'm starting to consider my unit defective
New firmwate seems to have improved it a lot for me, on the "Plus". My test scene in the Expanse was terrible before. Faces went very green. Now, it is not noticable, although I haven't analysed it in detail to see whether it perhaps still happens to a much smaller degree
P1215 from 0910 hasn't worked on my Max to resolve any EBL colour shifts and pumping, despite toggling/disabling lots of settings like ultra sharp mode etc. I haven't done any fan mods. The opening scenes in Bladerunner 2049 (UHD disc) are a case in point: K gets out of vehicle in grey mist = brightness + red/magenta flashes; K and Sapper Morton's faces when inside the house = green tints, and K's face inside vehicle flying back to LAPD also = green tints. Hope this issue can be improved - I find it too constantly distracting (even on low) and thus disable it as one of (if not the) PJ's key feature. (Bothers me much more than any clipping in EBL high, that's for sure...but happy to take a slider for that regardless!)
This is so noticeable for me on faces that I cannot use ebl low or high on any setting. The projector outside of this is amazing, but one of the big selling points has been ebl makes the effective contrast of this projector compete with high-end lcos. For me, I can't use ebl as it currently is. I'm updating to the 12.15 firmware right now and really have high hopes. But low expectations!
Which firmware are you on? It is improved over the really old versions but didn't change for me coming from 1009 on Pro 2 and 0805 on Max.
There definitely still is a green tint when EBL dims even on the newest firmware. I wonder if it needs a similar function to the new Xgimi Titan Noir Max where you can set a white balance adjustment more to red for when EBL dims, to offset the shift.
